With a global career spanning over 30 years in the biotechnology sector, Dr. Santiago Vispo combines scientific excellence with strategic business vision. His academic background is eminently international: he obtained his PhD through a collaborative thesis between the Università degli Studi di Roma Tor Vergata (Italy) and the University of Havana, a degree officially homologated by the Complutense University of Madrid.
His scientific profile was consolidated through postdoctoral fellowships and research positions at world-renowned centers in Germany (such as the Paul Ehrlich Institut and Cosmix Molecular Biologicals) and Italy, where he specialized in advanced technologies like Phage Display and gene therapy.
In the corporate sphere, he led the Pharmaceutical Division of CIGB for 20 years, managing multidisciplinary teams and directing the full product lifecycle—from discovery to clinical trials—for innovative molecules and biosimilars. He is the author of multiple patents and high-impact scientific publications.
